FAQ

Q. How long do I have to wait for my photographs?

A. We allocate 30 minutes at the end of the shoot to organise and burn all the high resolution photographs to a DVD for you to take home.

Q. How many people can I bring to the shoot?

A. We advise you only to bring people that are essential to the running of the shoot. The maximum we advise is 8 people but if the brief requires more people please contact us and we may be able to accommodate this.

Q. Can I bring my own hair/makeup artist?

A. Yes, you can. We do have professional makeup artists whom we can assign to your shoot for as little as £60 but you are welcome to bring your own. Please advise us before the shoot if this is the case so we can prepare a space for them to work.

Q. I have a crazy/complex/extravagant idea for the shoot, can you make my idea a reality?

A. We will talk to you before the shoot about your requirements, ideas, concept etc. There are certain limitations to shooting in a studio which may mean we would have to make some adjustments, keeping as close to the idea as possible. At the same time, our team is always up for a creative challenge so we will do everything we can to complete the brief. We also have a talented team of retouchers and cgi artists who can work on the after effects of the photos.

Q. Can I bring animals into the studio?

A. We would advise against it whenever possible. If the animal is to be involved in any part of the shoot please contact us to discuss if this is feasible. We are always open to ideas and will try to accommodate all your requests as much as we can.

Q. Can I smoke at the studio?

A. Definitely not inside the studio but there is a private courtyard and private greenery area overlooking the canal where you are free to smoke or just chill out.

Q. I have no experience with how a photography shoot works, is this going to be a problem?

A. All of our photographers have plenty of experience with studio photography and will guide you through every aspect of the shoot. They also know what is and isn't possible to achieve from a studio set up and can give you the best advice as to what ideas and concepts will help accomplish the desired results in the best possible way.

Q. I would like to copy the layout or style of another photograph I have seen, is this possible?

A. We really like it when you have done your research and have a clear idea of what you want out of the shoot. Bring any research, inspirations etc to the shoot to show the photographer and we will get as close to the original image as possible while making it your own.

Q. I would like to shoot with a specific photographer on your team, is it possible to request this?

A. Since each of our photographers has their own specialty areas and specific working schedule, we usually assign you to a photographer based on your requirements and available shooting dates. However, we will do our best to get you on a shoot with your preferred photographer upon your request.

Q. I would like shots done out of the studio, do you do this?

A. Although Fotojenik is aimed at studio photography, we can also arrange for a shoot to be done on location, be it of a building, or of people or a product with the location in the background etc. If this is the case, please drop us an email with as much information about what you would like shot, whether you already have a location in mind and permission to use the space etc and we will contact you to discuss it further and to give you a quote. If it is something that Fotojenik and its staff cannot accommodate, we have a large network of photographers in different fields of photography so we would be more than happy to point you in the right direction of a talented photographer for the shoot.

Q. Do I have to sign anything?

A. We may ask you to sign a release form which is to confirm that you give us permission to use any of the photographs to advertise Fotojenik either as examples on our website or fliers. We will give you the rights to every photo taken on the day so you may use them for anything you wish.

Q. What if I loose my disk with the photos on, do I have to arrange another shoot?

A. No. As part of the service we keep all of our shoots backed up for a minimum of 3 years so if ever you would like a copy of the DVD posted out to you, just give us a call or email us with the shoot date/number and we will post a new DVD out to you. There will be a charge of £10 per extra disk posted out.

Q. My question wasn't answered here, how do I find out an answer?

A. Feel free to drop us an email with your question(s) and we will do our best to get back to you within 24 hours.
